Haunt season is filled with hectic, spooky, and sometimes humorous moments. By this point in the season, many of us find ourselves overtired & underfed, with our sanity hanging on by a thread.
You deserve to have a little fun! So we created a Haunted House Staff Bingo card with typical things you might encounter during haunt season. Can you relate to these experiences?
Feel free to print a few copies and use them at your end-of-season wrap party!

S Column
- A guest screams at an actor: It’s a classic! A guest gets so scared that they scream directly at the actor who’s supposed to be scaring them.
- Power goes out mid-scare: The eerie atmosphere gets an unexpected boost—or a headache—when the power unexpectedly cuts out during a scene.
- Last-minute prop breakage: A prop you just fixed or counted on suddenly breaks right before or during a busy night. Ugh, why does this always happen at the worst times?
- “Is it really scary?” question: Guests nervously ask this before entering, trying to gauge how terrified they should be.
- A guest gets lost in the maze: Whether it’s a complicated layout or panic, someone inevitably takes a wrong turn and can’t find their way out.
C Column
- Code Yellow: One of your guests gets so frightened inside the haunt that they wet themselves. Bonus points if this happens before they even make it inside.
- Actor loses their voice: These jobs require a lot of physicality and vocalizations. With all that screaming, grunting, and howling, someone’s bound to lose their voice during the season.
- Someone touches the props: Despite all the warnings, a guest grabs a prop or decoration, potentially breaking it or ruining the scene.
- Actor accidentally scares themselves: In a funny twist, one of your actors gets startled by another actor or prop during the night.
- “Can I bring my baby?”: Yes, someone actually asks if they can bring a very young child into your super-scary haunted house.
A Column
- Full parking lot: A sign of success, but it’s also chaos! Your parking lot is completely packed, and it’s a logistical nightmare.
- “Not scary enough” review: No matter how terrifying you think your haunt is, there’s always someone who says it wasn’t scary enough.
- Staff member gets spooked: Even the team isn’t immune! One of your staff members jumps or gets scared unexpectedly during the event.
- Costume mishap: A costume rips, tears, or malfunctions just when your actor is about to step into their scene.
- Code Brown: This one stinks! A guest gets an exceptionally good scare from one of your actors and…well…you know the rest.
R Column
- Someone tries to record the scares: Despite warnings, a guest pulls out their phone and starts recording the scares, potentially ruining the experience for others.
- Dead battery: Someone forgets to charge the walkie-talkies and your comms system goes down in the middle of a busy night.
- Forgot to restock fake blood: You’re about to start the night and suddenly realize you’re out of fake blood, an essential for many scenes!
- Emergency exit needed mid-scare: A guest panics and needs to be escorted out through an emergency exit, usually cutting across a carefully planned scene.
- A group refuses to enter: After seeing the first scare or hearing the screams inside, a group decides it’s too much and chickens out before even entering.
E Column
- Late-night cleanup: After the last guest leaves, it’s time for a long night of cleaning up all the fake blood, debris, and reset props for the next day.
- Someone faints: In the middle of the experience, a guest gets too scared and faints, needing immediate assistance.
- “Can I use my phone inside?”: A guest asks if they can use their phone for a flashlight or to film, which is usually a big no-no.
- Prop malfunction mid-scare: A moving prop or animatronic stops working right as it’s supposed to deliver a big scare.
- Last-minute weather scare: The weather unexpectedly turns bad—rain, wind, or worse—just before the haunt opens, threatening to ruin the night.
We hope this gives you and your team a fun way to relive the laughter, frustration, and excitement that come with running a haunted house during haunt season. What items would you add to your team’s bingo cards?
